Whether it’s converting an old fire house into housing or developing new housing for seniors, Martha’s Vineyard is creating and preserving stable rental homes for year-round residents. Secretary Augustus joined housing advocates and professionals yesterday morning to visit and learn more about six different developments on the island that are meeting the needs of its residents.

Secretary Augustus toured LeClair Village property today. When complete, LeClair Villagewill create 39 affordable homes, whichrepresents an 11% increase in the town’s affordable housing stock. Congratulations to the Town of Mashpee for significantly increasing their affordable housing stock where many local employees struggle to find stable housing that they can afford.

Secretary Augustus stopped by two local housing authorities today while on Cape Cod. He started his day at the Barnstable Housing Authority and ended his day at the Mashpee Housing Authority. Both housing authorities are working hard to house our more vulnerable residents.
