The 2023-24 college basketball season wrapped up a month ago with UConn winning back-to-back titles, taking down Purdue in the national championship. And since then, there has been a lot of activity with roster changes stemming from the transfer portal and even coaches moving on to new jobs.
As we sit here in May, months away from a new campaign, there is a lot that will still happen in the sport in terms of the rosters. But 247Sports has released its final rankings for the 2024 recruiting classes, ending the cycle as we get set to embark on the summer months.
This 2024 class will have players who will leave their mark early in college basketball next season and potentially players who can be the difference in cutting down the nets or missing out on the NCAA Tournament.
While there are a few uncommitted players still looking to make their own decisions, the general landscape of the class is set. And with the new player rankings come an updated set of team rankings.
Let’s take a look at the top 25 teams in the updated 247Sports rankings for the 2024 class including a rival of UNC that took the top spot overall.
No. 21-25

Below are the teams ranked No. 20-25 in the final rankings:
No. 25: Georgia (52.24)
No. 24: Kansas (52.36)
No. 23: Colorado (53.66)
No. 22: Penn State (53.76)
No. 21: Notre Dame (54.86)
The biggest surprise here is Kansas being No. 24 on the list. The Jayhawks class isn’t a strong one but their transfer class is among the best.
Fellow ACC foe Notre Dame checks in with a top 25 class and lots of room to get better.
No. 16-20

No. 20: Clemson (55.65)
No. 19: Villanova (56.57)
No. 18: Creighton (57.40)
No. 17: Georgetown (58.15)
No. 16: TCU (58.96)
There are some surprises here on this list in the top 20. ACC foe Clemson lands a top 20 team as they are fresh off a run to the Elite 8. Meanwhile, three Big East teams in Villanova, Creighton and Georgetown land in the top 20 as well.
15. Michigan State (60.10)

The Spartans picked up another commitment since the last updated rankings but fall two spots to No. 15.

This is a strong class for Damon Stoudamire who is looking to build on last year’s finish. There’s a long way to go but things are looking up in Atlanta for the Yellow Jackets.

Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels struck early in this class, finishing with two five-star recruits and a four-star recruit. They have another top-10 finish in the rankings.
